MTG Marinetechnik GmbH is an independent naval consultant with more than 50 years of experience. The engineering company defines as its core business not only conclusive overall ship design concepts but also every aspect that supports the procurement process: requirements management, cost analysis, personnel / crew models, simulations as well as survivability studies. MTG specifies needs and designs naval ships for several navies and governments with a focus on the early process phase.

Why, What, How?
Each project begins with the engineers at MTG analysing the capability gap or requirement in terms of its technical feasibility. Based on this, they compile functional requirements together with the client, which provide the basis for design ideas and technical solutions. The project management team involves the customer during the whole process. While evaluating the requirements with the client, MTG defines the capabilities the vessel must have. The engineers then prepare and present preliminary as well as final results and discuss these with the client. The experts give recommendations based on the results for further decisions-making and future steps. This includes all necessary data, evaluations and comparisons so the client is able to select the best solution for his needs. More than 50 years of experience
The original concept behind the founding of MTG Marinetechnik was born in 1966 from desire of the German Federal Ministry of Defence to bring together the strategic knowledge surrounding the overall concept of naval ships in one place away from production sites. The aim was to create a center of expertise for maritime concerns in order to identify and develop ideal solutions, without the economic pressure of production utilization levels. From the very start, the company was designed as an independent and self-sufficient consulting firm. For this reason, MTG Marinetechnik soon took on tasks, not only for the German Navy, but also for other navies and industrial companies. Today more than 50 experts in the fields of naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering, weaponry, telecommunications engineering and computer science work together on projects on an interdisciplinary basis. An independent and unbiased consulting is the highest priority for the company to provide the ideal approach for every client.
